Lately I don't really feel like I'm having much success with my photography. I feel like I'm not really learning anything and that the things I try out aren't working. And its not like I don't have alot to learn either! I dunno. I just feel stuck in a rut with it. I took loads of photos on our recent trip to the Caribbean but I'm not very happy with most of them. The main problem is composition - or to be more specific I am rubbish at composing my pictures. Other problems are photographing in low light - I'm not getting good results with that either. Grrrr

Autumn is here
Autumn is well and truly among us here in the north of England, I managed to capture a few shots at the weekend. It was beautiful - quite possibly my favourite time of year.

365 Days on Flickr
I hate photographs of myself (really I do) but i frequently end up taking them simply because I am stuck for anything else to photograph. That and I struggle to find people who will cooperate with me wanting to photograph them. Well I was browsing on flickr and came across a group called 365 Days. Its a group where you sumit a portrait a day for 365 days. I thought it would be a fab way of improving my skills and finding some kind of inspiration. Other people have submitted some wonderful shots to the group - shots that i can only dream of being able to take at this moment in time. I have submitted 2 days so far...have a look at them now because hopefully I will look back in 6 months time and cringe at them.

Mood Beams
I've been struggling with inspiration again lately and have been really scraping the barrel wondering what on earth I could photograph. Then I was browsing through Flickr and found a great picture by Adam Is On Flickr and decided to have a go at replicating it. I never managed it as I couldn't get the light placed in the correct place at the correct timing. So i just ended up with a collection of different shots of my mood beam. And I was grateful that they came out as well as they did :)
Here are my attempts at mood beam photography.
