Portrait photography

If (like me) you frequently run out of inspiration for posing the person you are photographing then you might be interested in seeing this page on posing subjects.

I think you are sooooo funny

I found some old photos of my nephew today - taken at his first birthday party. I was never so fond of the them from a creative point of view (of course the subject was lovely but they were a bit dull creativity wise). I had a tinker about with them today and came up with these 2.

Church trip

We went for a walk this afternoon and ended up in a church grave yard - as you do. Here's a few pics. To be honest it was a very disappointing trip. I can't really say I was *that* thrilled with any of the photos - although I did like the first one.

Sick Boy

The cat seems to be slowly getting back to normal. He's more vocal and jumping up onto the chair now and taking more interest. I just wish he would eat now though. Come on boy.....eat! This tube must go - grrrrrr

Sick boy having a nap - fell asleep during his feed.....bless

Enough medicine to sink a ship

Pureed cat food - yummy

No other news just yet really due to being busy with the cat.

Layer it on

I've been playing about with layers in Photo Shop elements. I find Paint Shop Pro sooooooo much easier to use and am not a fan of elements at all but think I *should* really try and figure it out. I have discovered though after all this tinkering that the result was exactly the same as with Paint Shop Pro. So guess what? I'm sticking with Paint Shop Pro for layer work :)

Highlight Mid Tones

I discovered how to get the kind of look I've been trying to get. I discovered that in Paint Shop Pro I can highlight mid-tones to achieve the effect. I've been playing about with it a bit recently. Have a look.

Photo Challenge

I found an interesting website on photo challenges. I thought it might be interesting to set myself a challenge and see what results I get. Have a look and see if you can set yourself a challenge. You might be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Sick cat

Our cat was rushed to the vet 11 days ago. Sooooo scary. I honestly thought he wasn't going to survive the night. He was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis and possibly pyelonephritis. He was to sick to eat but needed to to prevent liver failure so he's had a feeding tube (oesophagostomy) put in. Hopefully it will be taken out in a week or 2. The tube is normally tucked away in a stocking kind of thing around his neck but he'd just been fed here.

Its so lovely to have him back home :)

Boring

Well I'm afraid there's not been much going on here lately. The weather hasn't been up to much and we've not really been anywhere to take the camera. I've kind of been tinkering with some old photos and having a play about with some layers in Paintshop Pro (I still refuse to use PhotoShop Elements even though I have it LOL). I went to a wedding and took some pics there but with my old camera which has a terrible noise problem. So here you go - a few selected pics taken over the last few weeks.
